The buffalo nickel was in production between 1913 and 1938 in the U.S. I personally think it’s our cutest coin. The front features a buffalo and the reverse has a rendering of a Native American chief. Three chiefs actually sat for the rendering. Their names were Iron Tail, Big Tree and Two Moons. Their images were combined to make the image we know and love on the face of the nickel. Comes on a 30 inch long gold filled soldered link chain with crystal detail. A little heart is soldered on and is raw brass. A great reminder to never to forgot our history and to live compassionately.
