It was pointed out to me that this cute little Apophyllite cluster is shaped like a snail and I can totally see it. It has a clear reflective body with well shaped crystals all landing on one side and a pale green host rock. Apophyllite is one of this mineral that I find so charming because it never looks the same and comes in a couple different colors from light pinks to minty greens and clear. They were formed millions of years ago in molton air bubbles and the crystals are more of a triangular shape, contrary to quartz which has 6 sides. This specimen is about 2 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall. Photos taken in natural light and unedited for accuracy.
